Founded in 2021, Riverlands was born from a simple but powerful mission: to provide the most organic, consciously cultivated medicinal cannabis available in NSW Australia.

We believe in doing things the right way — the conscious way. Every plant we grow is a result of careful thinking, sustainable practices, and genuine teamwork. As a family-run business based on the Mid North Coast, NSW, Australia we take pride in producing natural, pesticide-free, full spectrum sun medicinal cannabis, to be harvested on our family farm.
Our team is made up of thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers, united by a shared purpose: to deliver exceptional cannabis products that truly make a difference. At Riverlands, it’s not just about growing cannabis — it’s about growing with intention, with care, passion and with a commitment to people and the planet.
Founder - Kevin Wortes
Our Story
Nine years ago, Kevin Wortes—our father and founder of Riverlands—was watching a 60 Minutes segment that would change everything. It told the story of a grandfather supporting epilepsy research for his granddaughter—and the remarkable promise of medicinal cannabis where conventional treatments had failed.
That moment became a mission: to start a medicinal facility in Australia. Together with his three sons—Nick, Dan, and Matt—the family poured their hearts into creating a small, family-run facility grounded in science, compassion, and ethical practices.
It wasn’t easy.
The journey demanded years of research, legal navigation, and unwavering commitment. But it was powered by determination every step of the way.
In early 2024, life dealt a devastating blow: Kevin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Four months later, he was gone.
Fast forward six months to late 2024—Riverlands was granted its medicinal cannabis license by the federal government.
In 2025, they completed their first harvest.
Now, Kevin’s legacy—a promise to offer hope, healing, and dignity—continues.
His voice, his vision, and his purpose live on. And thanks to you, it’s only just beginning.
